MikroTik load balancing distributes traffic across multiple internet lines; Failover chooses another route instead of the unusable line. Connection-based methods such as PCC are not the same as running a single session at the combined speed of two lines.
In this guide
Do the speeds of two internet lines really match?
In connection-based distribution, packets of the same session are generally kept on the same path. Different connections of multiple users can be distributed across lines; A single file download should not be expected to reach the combined speed of two lines. MikroTik explains different load balancing methods separately.

What does PCC classify?
PCC is used to produce a distribution decision from selected link features. Which address and port fields are used can affect whether the same user's sessions are distributed across different lines. This preference should be considered together with the applications' session behavior.
Technical reference: MikroTik — Per Connection Classifier.
The goal is not to show both lines active on one screen, but to establish a predictable distribution for real traffic. If the speeds and usage quotas of the lines are not equal, the distribution expectation is adjusted accordingly.
Which applications should be tested separately?
Banking, payment, remote access and IP address authorized applications may be sensitive to different exit addresses. The response path of external connections to the server should also be considered. Acceptance only through general internet browsing may not be sufficient.
Example scenario: company's accounting application allows a single static IP. Instead of randomly distributing all traffic to two exits, the routing requirement of this application is specifically evaluated.
Does load balancing automatically provide fault tolerance?
It doesn't always work. It should also be designed which alternative path the rule that directs a connection to a specific table will use in case of line failure. Distribution and access control are separate topics. A configuration backup and alternative management access are prepared before going live.
Test single line, multi line, partial failure and return to main line scenarios. With line information and critical applications MikroTik load balancing management You can clarify its scope.

Frequently Asked Questions
Wouldn't a single user see any benefit?
Multiple independent connections can be deployed; The result depends on the application used and the method chosen.
Is the Speedtest result sufficient for acceptance testing?
No. Testing can use multiple streams. Business applications, single sign-on and line failure scenarios should also be examined.
